Injured Girl A Hoax

Story of Injured Girl a Hoax?

Was the story of injured girl a hoax that grandmother made up to raise money for the girls medical bills?  It is looking that way…

What Investigators & KFC Are Now Saying  |  Story of injured girl a hoax?

“When the allegation was first made, KFC pledged $30,000 to go to medical expenses and started an investigation to find the truth. They have pledged the money even if it is proven that the incident never happened. At this point their story is full of holes. Any thinking person who follows their timeline can see it. The event at KFC never happened.” Dick West, president of West Quality Foods

“Security Footage does not put Victoria or her Grandmother, who claimed to be with her, in the KFC (or even another KFC) the day the incident supposedly occurred.” Laurel Leader-Call Newspaper

“We have taken this report very seriously from the beginning.  Since our franchisee was unable to verify the incident in their internal investigation, they hired a third-party consultant to conduct an independent investigation to help resolve the matter.  We expect to have this findings of that investigation soon, and we are committed to the $30,000 donation to assist with Victoria’s medical bills no matter the outcome.”

What the Family is Saying  |  Injured girl a hoax?

“I promise it’s not a hoax. I never thought any of this would blow up the way it has. The article circling the web calling this a hoax is untrue. The article itself says the investigation is not complete. It is not over until KFC releases a statement. The media outlet running this story is not connected with KFC. The family has not asked for anything. An attorney is handling all the media publicity for the family pro bono. Please do not believe untrue media. I have personally watched this family go without to provide for Victoria. They have not and would not do anything to hurt Victoria in any way.”

What Social Media is Saying  |  Injured girl a hoax?

“It DISGUSTS me to know that people will outright lie and deceive the public for their 15 minutes of fame and fortune — worse still, to use a child who has already suffered considerably — KFC would be within their rights to slap a libel & slander lawsuit against these despicable people!!!”  Theresa L Baker

“Oh my god.”  This is even worse than the original story. That poor little girl will someday see that her grandmother believed she was so horrific that this seemed plausible. This keeps making me sadder and sadder.”  Mike Shaner

“While I detest the action of the Grandma here–I would not want my donation back (had i donated). But the damage done to KFC here is criminal, and she should probably face a fine.”  Greg Dwyer

“How disgusting is the Grandmother of this sweet little girl. They collected more than 130,000 dollars in donations from kind generous people,on their gofundme account, including 30,000 dollars from a horrified KFC corporate. KFC said that they do not want the money back. [The grandmother] needs to go to jail for fraud…” Rodney E. Reed

“It sounded like a very crazy story when it first came out. We live in a sick, money hungry society. People don’t care who they hurt to make a buck. How sad to use a child this way. Your own grandchild for that matter. Hope they are prosecuted and the little one finds a new family.” Julie Loker

Something felt wrong about this “incident” in the first place. I know people can be mean, but I couldn’t imagine a store manager asking them to leave. It reminded me of the story a lady made up on her blog about a man assaulting her child at Walmart because he was wearing a pink hat (or something feminine). She had no idea it would go viral and that the police would jump in to investigate.  Rebecca Robinson-Bailey
